– NEW REDECO TRACK LICENSED IN “IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE” –

“It’s a Wonderful Knife” (2023) a Christmas/Horror film starring Justin Long has licensed one of Ryan’s Redeco tracks for use in the film. You can hear the new Redeco track “All the Feels” in theaters nationwide. The track is an electronic feel-good homage to music of the 80’s. Redeco is Ryan’s electronic artist project. This marks his first theatrical film credit.

– NEW “LIVE” ALBUM OUT NOW –

“Live” is live! The new live album “Live at the Bitter End, New York City 2022” is out now featuring full band performances recorded at one of NYC’s most storied music clubs. The evening captures the spirit and camaraderie Ryan and his band bring to live settings.

“Thrilled to share our first live album with you featuring performances from our NYC album release show last Fall at the Bitter End. This show was both an album release night (featuring new material from the “Night Owls” album & old favs from “True North”) and also a reunion show for the band after three years since previously performing together. – NEW ALBUM “NIGHT OWLS” OUT NOW –

A collection of songs about what keeps you up at night. Songs about love lost, uncertain times in a changing world, feeling distanced, missing the best of times and longing to contribute and leave behind something of lasting value. “Night Owls” features acoustic driven ballads, gritty electronic anthems and groove based indie rock. The project was created over the pandemic years at Ryan’s home studio in Chicago and later LA and via remote collaborations with musicians and engineers in NYC. This is Ryan’s fourth LP release and features some of his most mature songwriting and ambitious productions to date. “Night Owls” takes you on a poignant and thoughtful storytelling arc.

– REDECO’S DEBUT ELECTRONIC ALBUM “VISTAS” OUT NOW –

Ryan’s sonic playground “Redeco” released it’s first electronic soundscapes album “Vistas”. The album features twelve tracks ranging from evolving electronic grooves to ethereal ambiances to gritty atmospheric tension. A sonic journey awaits the listener. Accompanying the album are multiple creative music videos that provide visuals for the listener to further transport themselves through each unique sonic vista. The album contains tracks very new and unique to what Redebaugh has created before. “I saw this project as a creative exploration, one in which to experiment, explore, break all the rules and get weird with both music and sonic textures. The process was a thrill and I couldn’t be happier with where it led. I am already looking forward to creating more in this vein…”

– FIRST OFFICIAL SOUNDTRACK RELEASE –

Ryan released his first official soundtrack, his score for the short independent film “Child of Wood.” The film follows the innocence of a stick figure who magically comes to life and learns what it means to be human. Childlike enthusiasm, heartbreak and loneliness, adventure and exploration compile the narrative’s arc. Available via digital to stream.

– NEW ELECTRONIC PROJECT “REDECO” –

Ryan has announced his new electronic project and has begun to release music under the moniker “Redeco.” Redeco creates vibe focused music that transports it’s listener through the use of evolving electronic sonic textures and emotive, musical colors. The debut album is “Vistas” due summer 2022 and the first single off of the project is “Mt. Vista.” A collection of tracks each designed to take the listener to a unique sonic “vista” through the use of both music and sonic design. New music soon…

– LA MOVE/NEXT PROJECTS –

Having relocated to LA, Redebaugh has his new studio up and running. He recently completed a new, upcoming documentary score about Olympic speed skaters. “Olu” will feature a soulful, rhythmic score. Current projects also include an upcoming indie drama, a new singer-songwriter album and an instrumental ambient/electronic album.

– MFA 2021 WRAP –

Completing a 2 year MFA in Music Composition for the Screen, Redebaugh had the opportunity to experience recording his music with a 74 piece orchestra at the legendary Fox Newman Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. Post-recording, Ryan got to sit down with renowned mix engineer Dennis Sands to collaborate on a mix. Also, as part of the culmination of his MFA, Ryan had the chance to shadow Hollywood film and tv composer Mateo Messina (Juno) and visit a recording session at Capitol Records.

– NETFLIX MUSIC PLACEMENT –

Ryan’s music received several placements on Netflix’s new environmental documentary series “Down to Earth” starring Zac Efron. Tune into the end of Ep. 1 “Iceland” and you’ll hear his “hero/inspirational” score just before the end credits.

– NEW SHORT DOC “UNMASKED” –

Ryan contributed music to the latest short documentary “Unmasked” featuring interviews of New Yorkers during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

– NEW DOCUMENTARY SCORE –

Ryan collaborated with Washington and Lee University and Project Horizon on the score for a new documentary film about the issue of domestic violence titled “Intimate Violence.” The film recently won for “Best Social Justice Film” at Cannes International Film Festival. Trailer below:

– NEW MUSIC PLACEMENTS –

New year, new music placements. Thrilled to see music I contributed be of use to a diverse array of cable programming. Never get to see these when they air but always cool to learn of placements after the fact. Thank you to the music libraries involved in helping place my material. Looking forward to further contributing towards future placements and storytelling needs.

–  TWO NEW VIDEO GAME SCORES –

Ryan recently wrote original music for two independent video game projects:

“Hangtime” (2019)- a racing game where players grapple hook their way to victory a la Mario Kart. Featuring a whimsical, upbeat, ethnic infused score for desert racing zones.

“Project: Brutal Space Doc” (2019)- an immersive world found within a recently discovered alien space station in which players complete jumps and searches to advance to the next level. Featuring an atmospheric, gritty, ambient, interactive score.

–  COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO GRADUATE STUDIES- MUSIC COMPOSITION FOR THE SCREEN MFA PROGRAM –

Ryan has recently embarked on further pursuing studies in scoring for media. He has begun the first of a two year program studying scoring for film/tv and games. The program was ranked third best scoring program in the world recently by the Hollywood Reporter and culminates in an internship assisting a working composer in LA. Focused study includes scoring to picture along with orchestration (electronic and acoustic), music tech, music production/mixing, video game music and conducting.

– SUCCESSFUL TRUE NORTH ALBUM RELEASE SHOW- BOWERY ELECTRIC NYC –

Ryan and his bandmates played to a packed room at the Bowery Electric (NYC) to celebrate the release of Redebaugh’s new album True North. The double length setlist featured songs from both the new record along with old favs.

–  NEW ALBUMS TRUE NORTH AND TRUE NORTH (ACOUSTIC SESSIONS) OUT NOW –

Ryan released his third full length LP titled “True North” featuring story driven songs around the theme of finding one’s sense of compass in life. The album is a collage of alternative rock, pop and electronic productions. An acoustic version of songs from the project is also available featuring intimate performances from the record.

– ORIGINAL SCORE COMMISSIONED FOR MAJOR REBRANDING CAMPAIGN: SCOUTS (UK) –

Ryan received a repeat custom music request from a commercial director from the UK to score Scout’s rebranding campaign. The resulting film received high praise from the advertising community. Featuring a sensitive, emotive track.

– SHORT FILM “NIGHTS OF BEING LOOSE” SCORED –

Ryan lent a gritty, electronic score to the short independent film “Nights of Being Loose” (to be released). The film follows a call girl who finds more than she bargained for when dealing with a client on one particular eve. The film is suspenseful and dreamlike in nature exploring the world of the nightlife.
